He was born in Norfolk, NE, on April 21, 1951, son of the late Benjamin and Mildred Gillard. He is survived by his spouse, Rosie Gillard , his two daughters Kendra Benallo and her husband Rick and Megan Luft and her husband Andrew; 4 grandchildren, Ava and Joseph, and McKenzie and Brayden, his sister Nancy Gillard and by 5 nephews. He is also survived by his two stepdaughters, Danielle Romero and Amanda Duncan and her husband Rhett; 3 grandchildren, Addison, Elijah and Aidan.
Mr. Gillard attended Arvada West High School, and then served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon return from the service he attended the University of Nebraska. He later worked for over 20 years at the US Postal Service. In his spare time he loved his garage and had a master craft of fixing anything his other loves gardening, reading and spending time with his family. He was a lifelong Denver Broncos Fan.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 11th, and then at 12 PM on Wednesday, August 12th, at Newcomer Funeral West Metro Chapel 901 South Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood CO 80226. Burial services will be held at 1:30 PM at Fort Logan.
