Hazel E. Peltz, 92, of Aurora, passed away September 18, 2020.

She was born November 3, 1927 in Rapid City, South Dakota, the daughter of John and Jessie Humphrey.

On March 16, 1946, she married Wilbur Fred Peltz.

She was a Manager with ARA for over 20 years. She was proud of her accomplishments in Rapid City including the Chuck Wagon, a Rapid City restaurant landmark, and other restaurant endeavors.

Hazel was a Life Member of VFW Auxiliary 3631 in Aurora, CO. She attended Central Baptist Church in Aurora. Hazel enjoyed knitting hats and booties and made whirly-gigs. She was an accomplished seamstress and made her own clothes. Hazel also watched out for her son's best interests at all times.

Hazel is survived by her son, Robin Peltz; many extended family members and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Peltz; father, John Henry Humphrey; mother, Jessie Marian Humphrey; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Volunteers of America Colorado, 2660 Larimer Street, Denver, CO 80205, because Meals On Wheels are a lifeline to the shut-ins in our elder community.

No services will be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
