Lee Jay Coppedge, 65, of Denver, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2020 at Denver Health Medical Center.

Lee was born in Denver, CO October 21, 1955 to his late parents, Robert and Glenna Coppedge. He moved to California at age 15 to live with his brothers, Kirk and Danny Rice. He went to Oxnard High School and eventually earned his GED.

Lee was in construction as well as roofing. His roofing career was spent in Durango, CO, where he also resided for almost 30 years. For the past five years, he lived with his sister, Norma Kinchelow.

Lee loved his Colorado Mountains and enjoyed camping and fishing. He also loved Classic Rock music. His sister, Norma, named him “Her Original Hippie” and he certainly lived up to it.

Lee is survived by his son, Derek James, brother, Kenny Brown, sister, Norma Kinchelow and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Glenna Coppedge and his two brothers, Danny and Kirk Rice.

There will be cremation and scattering of Lee’s ashes in the mountains by the Crystal River where he loved to fish.
