He was born October 27, 1937 in Brackettville, Texas, the son of David and Maria (deJesus) Townes.
Arturo is survived by son, Arthur Gene Townes; daughters, Dolores Jacinta Morales and Rose Mary Townes; granddaughter Yvette Townes and grandsons John Townes and David Townes; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and siblings Enriqueta Gonzales and Manuel Garza. He is preceded in death by wife Nestora Townes, parents David and Maria Townes, and Juan and Concepcion Garza, sons Carl Lee Townes and David Townes; brothers Frank Garza, Enrique Garza, Juan Garza Jr., Raymond Garza and Ricardo Garza.
