H. Jeannette Wilson, 83, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday January 13, 2021.

She was born to the late Elbert, Sr. and Mary G. Cox, October 22, 1937, in Florence, SC. Jeannette graduated from Great Bridge High School in 1955. She received her Paralegal Certificate in 1983 from Community College of Aurora. She married the late John M. Wilson in 1960, and they were stationed in DC, Virginia, Norway and Colorado during her husband’s 31 years in the Air Force, staying in Aurora after retiring.

Jeannette held many Federal Civil Service Administrative Assistant positions throughout her career. She worked for the FBI, NATO, NASA, Fitzsimons Army Medical Center Patient Administration and Chief of Neurosurgery as well as for FAA Administrative Law Judge with NTSB. Retiring from Federal Civil Service after 30 years, Jeannette worked for Aurora Public Schools, Raytheon and Kroenke Sports Entertainment. She also volunteered at Buckley Air Force Base Chapel, Pharmacy and Commissary and Denver International Airport.

Jeannette enjoyed attending theater performances, as well as Avalanche and Rockies games. She kept up with the Broncos on TV and was more than willing to talk sports. She also loved to travel whether it was new adventures or visiting her grandchildren, family and friends.

Jeannette is survived by her sister: Mary E. Cox of Aurora, CO, two daughters: Jacque (Kelvin) Wolfgramm of Henderson, NV and Jeannie Wilson of Aurora, CO, two grandchildren: Robyn (Anthony) Calarco of Henderson, NV and Ryan Van Dyke of Crossville, TN and four great-grandchildren: Gavin and Hunter Calarco, Kilynn and Zakai Van Dyke. She is preceded in death by her parents, half-brother Harry “Dick” Cockfield, brothers: James “Sonny”, Elbert, Jr. “Junior” and Harley, Sr. Cox.

Viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Metro Chapel Monday January 25th 10:00-11:00 and services 11:00-12:00 followed by Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:00 Staging Area A.
