Ronald (Ron) Arthur Dahl
Ronald A. Dahl, 79, of Aurora, Colorado, left this world to be with God on Thursday, February 18, 2021.
Ron was born June 22, 1941 in Liverpool, New York. He graduated from Charles Baker High School, Baldwinsville, NY, in 1960. He entered the United States Air Force shortly after graduation and served 23 years. His tours included Viet Nam, the Philippines, Iceland, and England. Stateside he was stationed at several bases including Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX and Lowry AFB in Denver, CO.
Ron married Linda Weber on March 6, 1964 and they had three children. Ron retired from the Air Force in 1983. Following his retirement, he worked at the Denver Institute of Technology and the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He married his current wife Diane Gant on September 10, 2005.
In his youth Ron enjoyed photography. He loved to fix things around his house and passed on his knowledge to his kids. He took his family camping in the summers and coached sports teams. He enjoyed a good practical joke and loved to tease his favorite people. He was a collector of many things, a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, liked to tinker in his workshop and loved his many dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wellington “Bruce” and Hazel (Dahl) Van Dusen, a brother, Bruce Charles Van Dusen, an infant sister, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose, as well as other family members.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; his former wife Linda, three children, Kimberly Dahl (Rory Regula), Keith (Barbara) Dahl and Karrie (Gary) Thompson; step son Daniel (Donna) Gould; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Olen) Reese; a brother, James (Theresa) Van Dusen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home East. A private military honors interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
