Sherry Rossiter

Sherry, a 32 year resident of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3rd after a long journey with dementia/Alzheimer’s.

She called herself an Air Force brat having lived with her parents at various Air Force bases throughout the world. As a result of her upbringing in different U.S. and international locations, Sherry enjoyed travelling with family and friends throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Sherry was a proud wife of nearly 40 years, a mother, and a former teacher of both English and Drama. She was a lover of the arts, music, and theater—anything dramatic or theatrical, including her funky wardrobe. After becoming a full-time mom, Sherry was an active volunteer in both daughters’ school drama productions. She loved her family, friends, and children everywhere. In her later years her eyes and smile would still light up when seeing young children.

Sherry could always be found working on a project in her craft-room, working in her garden to plant annuals and fresh herbs (Spring was her favorite season), and was an avid reader.

The beach and ocean were special places for Sherry. She spent her childhood in Jekyll Island, Georgia and she and her husband were married on the beach in Westport, Massachusetts. Her ashes will be scattered at those locations in the coming months.

Sherry is survived by her husband Lee, daughter Caitlin (Chris) of Denver; daughter Mia of Broomfield, and faithful dog Midge.

Sherry was a plant lover and volunteer at the Denver Botanic Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Denver Botanic Gardens
