Alice Matilda Kloewer… Born September 28,1936 to Joseph & Kathryn Sonderman at their home in Defiance Iowa. The sixth of nine children. Marcy, James, Harry, Pearl, Mickey, Alice, George, Leo and Janie.

Alice graduated from Saint Paul Catholic school in Defiance. She worked as a nurses aide while her husband served in the Army.

Married to Richard (Dick) Kloewer on June 17, 1957. Mother of 5 children.1.) Ronald (Melanie) children Michael, Shannon and Randall. 2.) Kenneth (first wife=Mary) children = Christopher, Bradley, Timothy & Cianna. Second wife (Christine) step children = Morgan, Katherine, Christopher & Hope. 3.) Mary Vielhauer (Eric) children=Nicholas & Nathan. 4.) Robbie (Laura) son Seth. 5.) Karen Pierce (Craig). The grandchildren had spouses adding Jennifer Kloewer, Anna Kloewer, and Kyle Kilman. Great grandchildren are Sullivan and Glaleanna Kilman, and Samantha and John Kloewer and Emory, Hazel, Jamison and Riley Kloewer.

Alice operated her own child care center for 35 years, raising over 400 children from new born to age 5. Known as the wife of Mr. Christmas. Lived in the Christmas house in Englewood. Christmas display began with the birth of the oldest grandchild and was displayed for 30 years. Their display placed second in the nation on the Today Show in 2002. In 2003, the display was featured on “Crazy for Christmas” on HGTV.

Alice was a member of “The red hat society”. They were members of Star Chaser RV group, Englewood Elks, Mile High Railroad Club, Englewood Malley Center and the Buck Center in Littleton. Their Rosebud Railroad garden was the pride of the neighborhood featuring over 50 rose bushes, perennials and annuals. Their meticulous lawn and home were featured in numerous newspaper and magazines as far away as Germany.

Alice was known for her generosity. She baked daily for 50 years donating to numerous churches for funerals. Alice never missed a card game nor did she ever miss a birthday. She was possibly the most generous person that you will ever meet. Even in death, her skin was donated to cancer patients and burn victims.

Love of family surpassed all expectations. You never left the Kloewer home hungry. Her siblings all made it to her 75th birthday party which featured an Elvis impersonator and a sister act skit. Alice was active and full of life and was loved, cherished and missed by family and countless friends.
