Nancy J. (Cox) Bowman Gifford, 81, of Littleton, Colorado, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24th, 2021, while resting at home, surrounded by family.
She was born the the late William “Norville” & Fern Cox, March 26th, 1940, in Denver, Colorado.

Nancy is survived by her second husband, Melvin Gifford. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon E. Bowman. Nancy & Gordon are survived by their three daughters, Diane Shouse, Roxie Sullivan and Lorie Zarlengo; and step-daughters, Debbie, Wendy and Brenda. Nancy is survived by her siblings, William “Bill” Cox, Jeanie Cutforth, Sandra “Sandy” Alley and Jim Cox. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jessica, Rachael, Ryan, Tyler, Josh, Lindsay, William and Randy; and five great-grandchildren.

Nancy graduated from South High School in 1958. She studied at Western Bible College and Arapahoe Community College.
She married her first husband Gordon E. Bowman in 1959. They lived together in the Denver metro area of Colorado, where they raised their family.
Gordon passed away in 2006 after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
In 2009, Nancy married Melvin Gifford.

Nancy was a lifelong, dedicated caregiver, often putting the needs of family and loved ones above her own. Nancy was very strong in her faith and very active with the church. She loved to have fun and some might call her “fearless.” Nancy loved to travel. She loved to go on cruises around the world and to go camping with family & friends in our beautiful Rocky Mountains. She enjoyed square dancing, whitewater rafting, waterskiing, snow skiing, bowling, gardening and playing cards. Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren and could be found right beside them, participating in their silly shenanigans.

A memorial service will be held at Arapahoe Road Baptist Church, located at 780 E. Arapahoe Road, Centennial, Colorado at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 12.
A reception with light lunch will follow at a nearby park.
A private burial ceremony will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
Please send flowers to Arapahoe Road Baptist Church or in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Samaritan’s Purse or Youth for Christ.
