Rebecca “Lorraine “Valdez gained her angel wings on August 19, 2021 at the age of 67 years old.

She was born in Pueblo, Colorado, to Ben and Emma Gurule on January 13, 1954. She was preceded in death by both parents and brothers, Dale and Joel.

She Graduated in Boulder, Colorado and lived in the Denver area for most of her life and worked for multiple government agency’s including the DEA and IRS. Rebecca moved to Center, Colorado in the San Luis Valley in 2009 to live out her days near the mountains and everything else she loved.

Rebecca is survived by her partner of many years, Chris Nelson; daughter Rebecca, and son Alfonso. She had three grandchildren, Brittni, Hailey, and Alfonso III. She had four great grandchildren - Noah, Camden, Ace, and Silas. She is also survived by brothers Benny, Everly, Charlie, and John as well as two sisters Gail and Della, and also many cousins and close friends.

Rebecca loved camping, fishing and the mountains. She also loved playing word games and crocheting and needle point. She was also the biggest fan of NASCAR races including the trucks, Xfinity, and Sprint cup series as well as the Indy 500. She also loved animals including her dog Gracie Lou.

A celebration of life is in the planning stages and will be announced in the near future.
