In Memory Of
Delores A. Salazar
1949 - 2021
She was born February 23rd 1949 in La Junta, CO to Juan and Julia Montano. Delores is survived by her children Michelle Salazar, Anita (Monica) Salazar, Joe (Heather) Salazar. Her sister, Georgia Montano. Her grandchildren, Rosella (Troy) Salazar, Marissa (Robert) Salazar (Dee raised Rosella and Marissa), David Salazar, Christopher (Tamara) Salazar, Joseph Martinez, Vincent Martinez, Ruben Martinez, Sonia Martinez, Shauntel Lafton, Silva Lafton, Josiah Salazar, Scarlett Salazar and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe E. Salazar, her parents Juan and Julia Montano, her siblings Genevieve Luna, Ceperano Montano, George Montano.
Delores was a selfless giver with a heart of gold. She was always willing to help and always put her family first. She worked hard throughout her life as a cosmetology instructor at the Aveda institute for many years. Once she relocated to Rocky Ford, CO she began working as a correctional officer at the Crowley Correctional facility until she retired. Once retired she enjoyed spending her time “taking a ride to the hill” to play her penny machines. She loved to attend Church, crafting and cooking. Delores would give and do anything to make sure her family never went without and never expected a single thing in return.
Our very special feisty lady will be forever missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her light will forever shine on.
