She was born on January 8, 1925 to Arthur Qvern and Emelia Lundereng Qvern on a farm in Solway, Minnesota. Faithful members of Solway Lutheran Church - confirmed on the 17th of October 1937. She graduated Bemedji High School in 1943. Palma moved to Denver by invitation from family friends, the Henleys.
A suggestion she work at Lowry Field as a telephone operator. Palma and her friend Marie were offered the chance to lease a small cafe at 10th and Gaylord. They called it P&M and served breakfast and lunch. After 3 1/2 years they sold. Palma was hired at Safeway as a cashier. She loved that job. She worked at Altura Drug Store until it closed. She worked at Samsonite until she retired in 1987. She married Joseph Kruger in July 1956 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Longmont.
Palma is survived by her nieces, Vernice Ostman of Sturtevant, WI and Mary (Ken) Broshofske of Ogilvie, MN; great nieces Chris Ostman, Diane Weiss and Sara Broshofske. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Clara Qvern; husband Joseph Kruger; and brother Harold Qvern.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 111 E. Del Mar Circle Aurora, CO 80011.
