Fred Albert Patterson Jr. also known as “Pete” was born in Denver CO. from the union of Fred Patterson Sr. and Carmen J. Franklin Patterson. He was one of three siblings – his brother Carroll Horner Jr. and his sister Blossom Lee Horner preceded him in death.
He attended Denver Public Schools and graduated from Manual High School, where he lettered in multiple sports. After his graduation, he was drafted into the armed forces, division of the Army, where he was honorably discharged.
Upon his discharge from the military services, he began a 37 year career with the Finance Center at Lowry Air Force Base and also a 30 year career at the American Automobile Association (AAA)
Fred also earned multiple volunteer awards including Colorado Association of Partners in Education “Volunteer of the Year” award from the First Congressional District of Colorado for his work with the Denver Public Schools’ PALS (Partners and Learning Equals Success) at Whiteman Elementary School. He was also a volunteer of the Denver Public Library.
He had a multitude of hobbies, including basketball, hiking, snow shoeing in the back country, biking, listening to music, attending jazz concerts, watching sports especially boxing and a great love of barbequing.
He is survived by his two sons Andre Jerome Patterson, Shawn Lamar Patterson, Ex-Wife and his devoted friend Sharon Evon Patterson, as well as his loving nieces Kimberly Whitlow, Andrea Marshall, Cassandra Horner, and Kathy Horner and a number of great nieces and nephews.
