Vivian Lucille Croy, age 68, of Sapulpa, OK, passed away after a short battle of cancer on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Mansion at Waterford Assisted Living in Oklahoma City, OK, with family by her side.

Vivian Lucille Bertram was born on June 17, 1953, at Porter Clinic Hospital in Lubbock, TX, the only daughter of Martha Carolyn (Gentsch) and Billy Bertram, she preferred the name Lucy to all that knew her.

On April 18th, 1975, Lucy married the love of her life, John Wesley Croy II in Phoenix, Arizona. They shared wonderful adventures together, raising their sons on the go, moving to different locations throughout the United States, including Hawaii & Alaska, until John’s untimely death on February 11, 2002.

Lucy was a long-time resident of the Glenwood Springs, CO and Rifle, CO valley, where she retired as a bookkeeper from Glenwood Medical Associates in November of 2021. She then made the move to Sapulpa, OK in December of 2021, where she purchased a new home to enjoy retirement life.

Lucy loved spending time with those who loved her most. Going on “Girls Trips” and attending concerts with her tight group of friends was something she spoke of often. Sharing the holidays, life events and get-togethers with her children, grandchildren and extended family, was something she held dear (and could occasionally end her up in front of a slot machine at the nearest casino).

Anyone who knew Lucy, was immediately drawn to her free-spirited demeanor, remaining southern twang, and sass. She had a heart of gold and would do anything to help those in need, or just be a listening ear. She had a wonderful sense of humor, always ready with a joke or story to share. She was never afraid to call you out when you stepped out of line and would wrap you up in love just the same. A devoted wife, faithful friend, and loving mother, she impacted the lives of all who knew and loved her, and she will forever be missed.

Lucy is survived by her dad; Jerry Lindberg of Phoenix, AZ; her 2 brothers; Gene Bertram (Kathy) of Buchanan Dam, TX; David Bertram (Marjorie) of Peoria, AZ; her 4 sons; James Carpenter of Phoenix, AZ; John Wesley Croy III of Old Landing, Kentucky; Todd Croy (Tami) of Shakopee, MN; and Nickolis Croy (Sondra) of Rifle, CO. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren; Brendan Carpenter, Landyn Croy, Rilie Huntley, Zada Croy, Ragan Huntley, Kadin Huntley, Calin Huntley, Sienna Carpenter, Jade Croy, Logan Croy, Gavin Croy, Deven Croy and was expecting her first great-grandchild. Lucy was preceded in death by her Mother, Carolyn Lindberg; Father, Billy Bertram; Husband, John Wesley Croy II; Husband, Earnest Gonzales.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 15, 2022 at Newcomer West Metro Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior, from 10:00-11:00 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm in Fort Logan National Cemetery.
