Deidre Michelle Perry was born on June 1, 1958 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to her late mother Betty Ann Walker Marshall. Her brothers and sisters would attest to how ambitious, compassionate, and caring Deidre was as a child. At a young age she loved to play softball with her siblings and friends. Deidre was the best at whatever she put her mind to. She loved music and she loved to dance and hang out with family and friends. She would later graduate from Huntington High School, in Long Island, New York. She would continue to obtain a degree in Nursing. After school she joined the United States Army in 1978 where she would serve 4 years and go on to meet her spouse and to this union in 1982 she would bring into this world her one and only daughter Jacqueline. Jacqueline remembers her mom as her best friend and always being a protector and an educator. She mostly remembers her mom for always telling her to look to god for strength. She was her everything.

Later she was blessed with five granddaughters Nevaeh, (late) Nariah, Niyah, Naliyah, and Naomi who lovingly called their grandmother “Gannie” They remember their Gannie as always being there for them and being so loving, and caring.
Deidre was a woman of faith who was a member of friendship Baptist church of Jesus Christ under pastor Paul Burleson.
By profession Deidre worked as a certified nursing assistant and Private home health aid for 17 years. She was a dedicated, hardworking person with a caring heart that extended into her work life.

Deidre was proceeded in death by her (late) Mother Betty Marshall, (late) brothers, Sekou Walker, Tony Sands, and Robert Sands.

Deidre Michelle Perry departed life on June 4, 2022 in Aurora, Colorado. She leaves a legacy for her only daughter Jacqueline (Nick), sisters Dawn (Delbert), Tracy (Tony), Valerie (Eric), Lisa (Derrick), Terri (Michael), Tina (Kenneth), Brothers Kamau (Candace) ,Steven (Jonel), & Wilmore; her five granddaughters, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many many friends.
