Septima Ann Columbus age 69 was called to her final rest and Homegoing on September 22nd 2022. Septima was born September 1st 1953 in Battle Creek Michigan, the 6th child born to Ambrose and Elizabeth Columbus. She graduated from West High School 1971, Denver, Colorado and then married to Barry D. Lawson Sr.
Septima was richly blessed with 8 children: Shemeka, Barry Jr, Terry, Byron, Crystal, Chris, Regina & Ashley. She also had 11 wonderful grand children: Destiny, Terry Jr, Barry III, Annecya, Issac, Ambrea, Braedon, Cameron, Vivianna, JaCory Jr and Langston.
Septima worked as a clerk for the Federal Government but after marriage became a homemaker. She loved, nurtured and devoted her time into caring for her family. Her hobbies were: caring for her grandchildren, shopping for bargains with sister Sherri at thrift stores, playing dominos and on occasion she enjoyed playing the slot machines at the Black Hawk casinos.

Septima was a kind, gentle, beautiful soul. She loved giving to others and would share anything she had with anyone who asked or was in need. She was known for always being hospitable and charitable with everything she had. Septima was a good listener and non-judgmental which made her very easy to confide in. An excellent cook and skilled barbequer.

Septima was preceded in death by her beloved father and mother, Ambrose and Elizabeth Columbus, and her brothers: Ambrose Jr, Calvin (Tim) Gary, Robert (Fat), Steve, John & David Columbus. She will lovingly be remembered by her all of a children, grandchildren and her sisters: Lillian (Gaynell) Gwen, Nanette and Sherri and her only surviving brother James Columbus, as well as her Aunt Edgar Lee Porter (Aunt Honey) and a host of grieving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Indeed we were all blessed to have known her and her life will be remembered by all who knew her. Our dearest and loving memory of our beloved Septima Ann Columbus.
