Donna D. Gibbs
June 26, 1948 - September 22, 2022
74 Years Old
Lakewood, CO
Born in Germany, Donna came to the United States with her parents and sister when she was a young girl. Donna grew up in the Denver Metro area and graduated from Lakewood High School, and then obtained her paralegal certificate from the University of Denver. Donna eventually met Alan in the early 1990’s and they got married after years of living together in 1998. Donna took Alan’s children, Becky and Andy, in like they were her own. Alan passed away in 2012, and Donna continued to be a significant parent figure in their life.
Donna was an entertainer and loved cooking. She loved to see people enjoy her amazing food. Holidays were her favorite, and she would happily spend days before Thanksgiving and Christmas preparing food for the entire family to enjoy. The kitchen was always Donna’s happy place. Donna absolutely loved Christmas and would decorate every square inch of her house for the Christmas holiday. She and Alan would host a Christmas Eve party every year, where she would always make great food the center of the party.
Donna spent her career working as a paralegal, most recently spending over 20 years working for Jefferson County Human Services where she helped countless families. She also was an avid volunteer with CASA, where she was an advocate for children in difficult situations. Donna was very generous and donated to many charities and organizations.
Donna is survived by her two stepchildren, Andy and Becky, and her grandson Casyn. She was also surrounded by love from Alan’s sisters, nieces and nephews.
