Marlene Mae Wyant of Aurora, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. She was born to the late Harry and Olga (Leffers) Baumgart on July 7, 1938 in Humphrey, Nebraska. She grew up in Humphrey and moved to Denver, Colorado after graduation.

She married the late James Frederick Wyant on December 20, 1959. After moving around various cities in Nebraska and Iowa, they relocated to Aurora, Colorado in 1968.

Marlene worked at the telephone company, sold Avon, was an active member at Hope Lutheran Church and a homemaker. She loved to bowl, make crafts, bake, travel and spend time with family.

Marlene is survived by her brother, Dean Baumgart, her sisters, Donnalee Wilken and Jean (Gene) Slizoski. Her daughters, Pam (Felix) Alvarado, Debbie (Gary) Byers, Lisa Wyant and Linda Wyant. Her grandkids, Leslie, Tara, Matt (Amanda), Steven (Alyssa), Lindsey, Sarah, Hope, Mariah and Michael. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister-in-law (Darlene Baumgart) and brother-in-law (Marlin Wilken).

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made for Alzheimer’s or to Hope Lutheran Church in Aurora.

A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home from 5pm – 7pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 16 at 9:30am (viewing at 9:00am).
