Robert (Bob) Moots, 73, of Aurora, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
He was born to the late Howard and Delores Moots, September 17, 1949, in NewUlm, MN. His family
found their way to Colorado where he graduated from Hinkley High School, sometime after he met his
then wife Audrey (Cook) and together they had one son Jesse Robert Moots, September 24, 1977.
Bob loved working with, riding and showing horses in his youth. He also served in the United States
Navy for one term. Bob worked for many years in the parts department at Holt as well as a handful of
other jobs including co-owning M&M liquors in Aurora. Bob was a member of the Eagles Club where he
loved to volunteer and spend time with his close friends. More recently Bob also started attending
Bethel Lutheran Church Sunday services and bible study regularly.
Bob loved to go fishing, boating and reading. There wasn’t a Stephen King book that he didn’t own. In
his free time, he loved to support his family at all their family functions, spend time with his dog Festus
and his best friend Will Johnson of 26 years. His pride and joy were his granddaughters Sierra and
Felicity Moots.
Bob is survived by his son: Jesse (Nichole) Moots, children: Sierra and Felicity Moots. He is also survived
by his siblings Roberta (Larry) Hurtado, children: Stacy and Natalie Hurtado; Debbie (Elbert) Thacker,
children: Nathan and Ryan Thacker; Monica Moots; Mark (Lynn) Moots, children: Kayla and Kyle Moots.
