Marta Louise Tullis, 71, of Littleton, CO passed away peacefully on March 07, 2023.

Marta graduated from Villa Grove High School in Illinois where she was the valedictorian of her class in 1969. She then attended the University of Colorado in Denver to earn a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

She met Huck Rhee in a robotics class at Lockheed Martin/United Launch Alliance, where she worked from 1986-2016 as a configuration analyst. They were married in 1988.

Marta and Huck were avid hikers. They enjoyed many outdoor adventures including panning for gold and gem hunting. They were frequent travelers and embarked on numerous international adventures together. Marta was also a member of the Waterton Amateur Radio Society and established contacts spanning the globe while pursuing her radio hobby.

Marta and Huck co-authored the book Under Five Flags, an account of Huck’s life in Pyongyang, North Korea in the World War II and the Korean War era. Their book was published in 2016 shortly after Huck’s death and an audiobook version was made available in 2022.

She was fondly remembered for diligently staying in touch with her loved ones through cards and letters as well as postcards from her travels. She will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Marta was predeceased by her spouse, Hackchan "Huck" Rhee; her mother, Frances E Tullis; her father, Alec N Popoff; and her brother-in-law, Youngchan Rhee.

She is survived by her stepchildren Richard Rhee (Laura Newman), Margarita Godina (Jose), and Brad Rhee; cousins Joanne Tullis, Beth Kluth, Linda Tullis, and Gregg Stoudt; nieces Suyon, Sujoung, Sujin, and Sukyong; and step-grandchildren Ethan Rhee, Isaac Rhee, Alejandra Meister, Paloma Godina, Cielo Godina, and Lucero Godina.

A Memorial Service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home West Metro Chapel on Saturday, May 27th at 2:00PM. All are welcome.
