Byard A. Kidd was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 30, 1944 to Ernest and Clara Mae Kidd. At the time of his birth Ernest was a prisoner of war in Germany. He finally met his Dad when he was 18 months old.

Byard was educated in Columbus, Plain City and Lima Ohio schools. Byard graduated from Lima High School in 1962. He attended Ohio State University for two years. He then joined the United States Air Force from 1964-1972. He did tours in Denver, North Dakota, Michigan and the Philippines as a Nuclear Weapons Tech. He decided to make Denver his home, so upon discharge he attended Emily Griffith School for four years to become a journey man carpenter and welder.

In 1979 he married Linda after a whirlwind five week long distance courtship. He worked as a carpenter/welder for The Carpenters and Joiners Union until 1988 when he went to work for the United States Postal Service. He retired in 2012.

He is survived by wife Linda, sister June and brother-in-law Scott Niblick, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gloria and David Ennis, brother and sister-in-law Paul and Sharon Beyer, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy, grandparents, many aunts, and uncles.

Byard will be cremated and laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
