A Noble

In the early morning of July 5, 2026, Noble was relieved of his suffering and was gently led from this life into our Lord’s loving arms. Noble was 85 and had bravely and patiently fought very hard for many years to continue to live in God’s beautiful world. However, he knew what God had in store for him was even more beautiful.

Noble Alfuria Harville was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on August 17, 1940, to Noble Aubrey Harville and Ella Harville. His older sister, Cleta, was ten years old at the time, and Noble adored her all of his life. Growing up, he ran barefoot on Southern soil, spent summers with an aunt he compared to Auntie Mame, fished for crabs, and hunted for food (including squirrel and armadillo). He reminisced about bike rides all over the Texas towns where the family lived, and the “village” nature of small towns. As a boy, his dad and he ran an ice plant which he managed alone when his father was ill.

After graduating from high school and two years of studying engineering in college, Noble married his first wife, Gale. They raised three children, David, Michael, and Wendi. In those days, Noble joined the Coast Guard Reserves, worked for a valve testing company, and for the government at Edwards Air Force Base. Eventually, he became a draftsman for a food service consulting company in California. When a fellow employee decided to move to Denver to start his own company, he invited Noble to join him. After experiencing earthquakes, Noble and his family were all too happy to move. Noble remained with Thomas Ricca Associates for the remainder of his career. He enjoyed his work designing commercial kitchens and loved his boss and co-workers who were his best friends. When Noble and Gale divorced, they remained good friends as they lovingly coparented their children.

Noble and Janet met in 1984 when she was working at his office during the summer. They discovered they lived across the street from each other and dated off and on for almost 9 years before finally figuring out they belonged together. They enjoyed attending church together, camping, square and round dancing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and just being together.

Noble loved tinkering with cars, building a variety of things, and finishing basements and porches. He knew plumbing and electrical and every aisle in every hardware store. He loved the mountains and his land there, camping, the ruins in Mexico, Ireland, square dancing and fast food. He adored his dogs and, of course, spoiled them. He loved music, especially country gospel. He loved to laugh.

Noble’s faith directed his life. He loved God, trusted God, and turned his life over to God. He was full of joy and had childlike enthusiasm. His intelligence, humor, courtesy, playfulness, sense of duty, protectiveness, caring responsibility, and love will be missed.

Noble was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Noble Harville, his sister, Cleta Bunyan, and his son, David Harville. He is survived by his wife, Janet Noble, his son, Michael Harville (Gina), his daughter, Wendi Merit (Mike), his first wife, Gale Harville, grandchildren Jeffery Harville, Jessica Ikeda, Rosie Levitt, Joshua Harville, Monet Pena (Jerry), Brooklyn Merit and Reiken Merit. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his beloved girl dog, Missy.
