Achula Marguerite Bolinger 1919-2012
92 of Aurora, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Amos Bolinger. Her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Chawna Bolinger. Her three grandchildren: Brandy, Austin, and Danielle. Her two brothers, Wallace (Earlene) Falter and Floyd (Glenda) Falter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Achula grew up in a small rural town in Alta Vista, Kansas. She was the oldest of three. Achula would tell stories of the one room school like you see on "Little House on the Prairie" called the "Second White" School. She would ride her horse to school and take lunch in a pail. Her parents Albert and Lida Falter were farmers. Achula would always recall how she would help care for her younger brothers and how she loved them. Since she was much older than they were, she always felt like she was their second mother.
During WWII, Achula helped the war effort by working in a plant making tracer bullets. She even had a few souvenirs. She was always proud to say she helped during the war.
Amos and Achula were married on June 7, 1963 and they loved and endured for 48 years. They met in Kansas while she was working at a Dry Cleaners as a seamstress. She worked there many years before they met. Married in Clayton, New Mexico their lives began together.
Eventually they settled in Fort Collins, Co in 1964 since Amos was a Journeyman Pipefitter and traveled alot.
Just a side note: during this time, in '64 she broke her left leg in 7 different places and this made an impact on her as she got older. It made it very difficult for her to eventually get around.
At this time; Doug came along.
Amos and Achula loved and adored their Grandchildren, Brandy, Austin & Danielle. Grandma Achula FINALLY had 2 baby girls! She was always there to help with extra hugs and kisses. With Brandy having extra special needs, there were times when Doug & Chawna needed Grandma and Papa to help with Austin & Danielle especially when Brandy was in the hospital. THEY WERE ALWAYS THERE TOGETHER TO HELP!
To my mom
Mom you mean the world to me
It's hard to live without you
You were always by my side
Through thick and thin you helped me
Even though your love will shine in me
Forever, it's still hard not to look for your hand to hold.
Even though your not here with me in the
Flesh, I still have you in my heart and in my memories.
I love you forever mom
