Aki Ushiyama, 92, of Aurora, passed away May 23, 2017.
She was born August 24, 1924 in Barr Lake, Colorado, the daughter of Yaichi and Sen (Sasaki) Hishinuma. She was a graduate of Fort Lupton High School. She married George Ushiyama, of Rocky Ford, Colorado.
Aki is survived by five children, Gerry (Mary) Ushiyama, Diana (Greg) Sakamoto, Ron Ushiyama, Bob Ushiyama, and Frank (Linda Heller) Ushiyama; four grandchildren, Garett (Tomoko) Sakamoto, Grant Sakamoto, Jennifer Brown, and Theresa Brown; brother, Harry Hishinuma; four sisters, Ellen Terrasi, Sumi (Girard) Gilliland, June (Keido) Shimizu, and Grace (Ron) Hitomi. She is preceded in death by her husband, George M. Ushiyama; parents, Yaichi and Sen Hishinuma; and five siblings.
