Alan James Copeland of Aurora, Co passed away at the age of 78 on March 18, 2026.
He was born in Denver, Co on January 20, 1948. He graduated from Thornton High School.
He loved sports and played baseball and was the star pitcher in high school. He ran track and played basketball. He earned awards for bowling as well. He went to Mesa College in Grand Junction, Co where he met his lifelong friend Mickey Lersch.
He married Sandra Lynn Lehrer on September 12, 1969. They were married for 19 years.
Alan worked for Tarco Inc. an earth moving company in Denver. He was the Vice President of Operations.
He always loved the outdoors and was a camp host for 8 years at Blue Mesa Reservoir in Colorado.
He married Lynda Hartman in 2005 and they lived in Florissant, Co and later moved to Spring Hill, Florida.
Alan was as an avid fisherman and went on multiple trips with his buddies. He especially liked fishing in the ocean in Florida. He moved back to Colorado in 2019.
Alan is survived by his daughter Tracy (Willy) Overman of Parker Co, His sister Janet Copeland of Bennett, Co, his Brother Mark (Susan) Copeland of Tucson, Az and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Erla and Clyde Copeland and his sister Carolyn.
