Broach, Alfred Howard
1928 ~ 2012
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Alfred Broach, died on June 15, 2012 in Aurora, CO at the age of 83 after suffering complications from a stroke. His family was by his side when he left to be with the Lord. Alfred was born in Florence, South Carolina on August 4th to Yearby and Corrine Morris-Broach, and was one of four sons.
He is preceded in death by his brothers John Henry (Shang) and Ervin Nelson (J.E.) Broach. Alfred served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1974, His years in the service took him many places including Italy, Korea, Thailand and Greenland. When he returned back to the states he retired and worked for the Environmental Protection Agency for 15 years.
Alfred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bertha Lee; his daughter Susan Hamilton, her husband Bill and daughter Kelli Overley; his daughter Tami Sidwell, her husband Glen and granddaughter Tera Schultz; his daughter Teresa Simoneau, her husband Brian Sousa and her daughters Brittney and Jessica; his Brother Tom and wife Nancy and their children Tina and Richard.
A Celebration of Alfred's life will be held on Thursday, June 21st. Viewing 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m., Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church, 13231 E Mississippi Avenue, Aurora, with the burial to follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80235. A reception will follow the internment at Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church.
