Alfred Martinez

Alfred Martinez 77, of Aurora, CO. He was born August 22, 1938. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Julia Martinez. He preceded in death by his father Hipolito Martinez, Mother Felisita Medina, Brother Jimmy Martinez, and sister Sylvia Villa. Alfred grew up in Las Animas, Colorado where he attended Las Animas High School where he was in football and other school activities as the manager. He graduated and them left to the in the Navy where he studied at the Radioman Class "A" School, U.S. Naval Training Center, Bainbridge, Maryland. He traveled the world on the Navy Ship and was Honorably discharged in 1962.

He moved to Denver where he got a job at All Right Corporation doing maintenance for 35 years until he retired. He married Julia Martinez on June 22, 1968 and they purchased a home in Aurora, CO. They had a daughter Roberta Martinez in 1969 and a son Joseph Martinez in 1978.

Alfred was a family man, who was kind to everyone he loved the outdoors, and loved to be outside anytime the weather permitted. He became a grandpa in 1985 to his first Grandson Mark Martinez, then after one grandson there came more, Mario Ruiz was born in 1989, Michael Ruiz was born in 1996. He then became a great-grandpa to Alexis Martinez in 2004, Ariel Ruiz in 2011, Ariyana Ruiz in 2014, Isaiah Martinez in 2014, and Azia Martinez in 2016.

Alfred was special from the start, as a child his Aunt gave him the nickname "SONNY", his daughter and son called him "TAT", and his grandkids and great-grandkids called him "PO" or "POEY". He will be greatly missed and there will never be another like him. He was happy with his life and in his death he is even happier with the Lord in his ETERNAL LIFE.

He is survived by many relatives who thought the world of him and truly knew he was a great man. Now he is "OUR ANGEL FOREVER" until we meet again.
