Alice Harty, born on June 6, 1933, in Manhattan, New York, departed this world on February 15, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Just twelve days prior to her passing, she experienced the poignant sorrow of losing her devoted husband, Walter, after nearly 69 years of shared laughter, love, and unwavering partnership.
In a life brimming with joy and indomitable spirit, Alice epitomized the very essence of a vibrant soul. She was a homemaker whose warmth extended far beyond her family, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Among her many chapters of work, her fondest memories transpired at Mountain Man Fruit and Nut Company, where she indulged in the rich delight of samples that recalled a sitcom scene from I Love Lucy, yet uniquely tinged with Alice's playful flair.
With a personality that radiated life, Alice was the quintessential hostess, the life of every gathering, effortlessly crafting an environment teeming with laughter. Her humor often caught others off guard, as she peppered conversations with brutally honest quips that danced around the edge of propriety, yet always left everyone in stitches. Alice found joy in the simple pleasures, like adorning her beloved dog, Nestle, with earrings and laughing at their comical sway.
Alice took immense pride in her home, a sacred sanctuary filled with antiques and charmingly worn pieces, each with a story to tell, complementing her teapot collection and dried flowers that graced every corner. Her children were her proudest accomplishments; a reflection of the love she bestowed upon them through her nurturing spirit.
Surviving Alice is her son, Anthony Harty, and the time she spent with him recently was an unexpected gift that she treasured deeply.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings, a poignant reminder of her role as the youngest among them. She now joins her beloved daughter, Linda Harty, and her cherished dog, Nestle, as well as her husband, Walter, in the light beyond.
A private graveside service will be held to honor Alice on February 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Arvada Cemetery. As we gather to celebrate the vivacious spirit of Alice Harty, we will remember not just the laughter she brought into our lives but also the legacy of love and humor she leaves behind. May her memory forever remain a beacon of joy, reminding us of the importance of laughter, candor, and the enduring bonds of family.
