Alice, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at MorningStar of Littleton Senior Living facility. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Allen J. Campbell (1917 - 2008). She is survived by her son Malcolm and daughter-in-law Janice of Hawaii, grandson Jonathon of Colorado, grandson Nicholas and granddaughter-in-law Veronica of New Jersey, and brothers Donald of Louisiana and Ardell of Wisconsin.
A linotypist by trade, she retired to become a full-time at-home mom in the late 50s. She enjoyed camping in the woods of Wisconsin where she grew up and Colorado where she spent the last 60 years of her life. She was an accomplished bridge player, loved to sing Christmas carols, and baked homemade rolls, bread, and pies from scratch that smelled wonderful and tasted even better.
Like her husband, she enjoyed traveling to different states and countries. She helped Allen build a log cabin on 40 acres of pine & aspen northeast of Fort Collins, and spent over 30 years of weekends and retirement days there.
Her demeanor was exceptional. Despite the hardships life can bring, she rarely complained or said a harsh word about anyone. She loved pets, especially cats, and treated animals with kindness and affection. Even in hospice care, her smile never left. She will be missed.
