48, passed away on November 8, 2014 in Aurora, Co surrounded by family. Alicia was born in Baraboo, WI on April 9, 1966. Her parents were Diane Lone Tree and the late Willam Hains.
Alicia was a proud member of the Ho-Chunk Nation (Bear Clan) and her Ho-Chunk name was Niamaniwiga or Walking on Water. She was a bright and talented student, particularly in math, and excelled academically and in extracurricular activities including ballet, speech and debate. She moved to Denver in 1982 and graduated from Overland Senior High School in 1984. Alicia attended Marquette University where she was a member of the ROTC. She later went on to receive her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado-Denver in 1993. After a successful career as a Human Resources Manager for Mystic Lake Casino in Minnesota, she married and had two sons, Christopher and David. Her kind and good-hearted sons are her greatest legacy.
A devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, Alicia will be remembered for her bright mind, great sense of humor, engaging stories, and her love of movies and travel. Her favorite travel destinations included Hawaii, New Orleans and Europe especially Italy and Ireland. She also loved the theatre and performed as an extra in a made for TV movie back in the early 1990s.
Alicia loved and cared for those around her. She was fiercely protective of her two sons, her mother and sisters, and other relatives. She was also a great confidant, one of those rare people with a special gift for truly listening to others, and she always could be counted on to offer words of support or help you see the humor in situations. Her family and friends remember many wonderful adventures with her. Alicia was incredibly bright and capable, a leader, and those qualities shone throughout her life. Alicia was preceded in death by her father, William Hains; sister Shelley Scott; grandparents Ann and Samuel Lone Tree; Uncle and godfather, Jonathon Lone Tree; uncles Rawliegh Lone Tree, Gary Lone Tree, Demetrius Lone Tree and her aunt Sandra Lone Tree Hengel. She is survived by her mother, Diane Lone Tree; sons Christopher and David Faulhaber; sister Samantha Beale (Jon); nieces Skylar and Madison Carroll; nephew SLoan Carroll; godmother and aunt, Kathyleen Lone Tree- Whiterabbit(Forrest); aunts Janice Lone Tree Stott (Pete) and Bernice Lone Tree Humphrey(George); uncles Spencer Lone Tree, Jacob Lone Tree (Linda), Gregory Lone Tree(Bernita); and her godson Forrest Whiterabbit, Jr., many cousins, friends and her beloved dog, Bingo.
