Allen Edwin Hopkins, Sr., 60, Retired United States Army, of Aurora, Colorado passed away May 25, 2014. He was born September 24, 1953 in Leland, Mississippi.
Husband of the beautiful Suzanne Hopkins for 43 years, Father of Allen Hopkins Jr. and Monique Hopkins-Macias. "Papa" of Sydney, Santiago, and Siena Hopkins. Brother of Richard Hopkins. Father in Law of Kim Antonio-Hopkins and Adrian Macias. Nephew of Ruby and Ernest Hopkins. Uncle of Louis, Alvin, John and Christopher Hopkins, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his Mother Lizzie Smith, Brothers Donald and Burley Hopkins and Sister Rosemary Hopkins.
Allen Sr. served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. After the Army, he went on to work with IBM. A self-taught computer whiz, Allen loved golfing and played at every opportunity. Allen Sr. loved his family very much and was in love with his grandchildren. His smile, laugh, sense of humor and love of life will truly be missed by everyone he touched, especially his family and friends. WE LOVE YOU!
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Followed by a Celebration of Life to held at the Inn at Hudson Gardens, 6115 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, CO 80120.
