Amanda Krystyne Thompsen, 26, of Aurora, passed away June 15, 2016.
She was born December 31, 1989 in Aurora, Colorado, the daughter of Derek Brown and Misty Thompsen.
Amanda was a member of Army ROTC while in school. She also lettered while in ROTC and was a Sharpshooter her freshman year.
Amanda was a published poet with several poems published in several national magazines. She loved animals and loved to read Harry Potter books. Amanda adored her little sister, Kristin and her dog, Sox. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her fear of insects. In spite of this fear, Amanda enjoyed caving, camping and snake hunting. She also loved going to the beach and swimming with the dolphins. Amanda enjoyed going to the Renaissance Festival. She was compassionate to anyone that she met. She was a people-person and loved to care for people and animals alike. She will be dearly loved and missed by all who knew her.
Amanda is survived by her parents, Derek (Janine) Brown and Misty Thompsen; Two Sisters, Kristin Brown and Kimberly (Dominic) Sales; two nephews, Julian Sales and Destin Sales; Niece, Ahja Sales; Two Grandmothers, Louise (Rand) Brown and Sharron Mathews; Aunt, Bethany Brown; Uncle, David (Sherry) Malone; Cousin, Ellora Malone; her fur baby, Sox; and many cherished friends.
