Andrew M. Bondi
February 1, 1924 – January 4, 2013
Andrew Bondi, our beloved brother and uncle, passed away quickly and peacefully on January 4, 2013 at Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home at Fitzsimmons in Aurora, Colorado. Andy was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 1, 1924 to Francesco and Maria Bondi. Andy moved from Brooklyn, New York to Denver, Colorado in the mid 1990's, to be closer to his family. He is survived by his younger sister, Anna Montana-Dye, his two nieces Maria Sprenger (Mark) and Michelle Naish (Rob), four great nieces, Krista Sprenger, Kayla Bergholz (BJ,) Kelley Howe (Chad), Jacqueline Naish, and great nephew Cameron Naish. "Uncle" as he was fondly known, was also given the years to know his great, great nephew Kameron and great, great nieces Sophia and Faith. Uncle loved his family greatly and being together with the family brought him no greater joy. Andy served in the U.S. Army just following WWII. As a young man Uncle had a passion for sports. He loved to play and watch the game of baseball and was the ultimate fan! Ask him about a baseball player, past or present, and he was there to give you the lowdown. He will be missed very much by his sister and family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Metro Chapel and a graveside service will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 2:15 PM.
