Listen to Obituary

Dora Ann Tinsley was born August 11, 1949, in Concordia, Cloud County Kansas and departed this life October17, 2025, at her home in Denver at the age of 76 years. She was the daughter of Harold Edward SR and Doris Glee (Thompson) Owen.

She attained her education from first through third grade in the Mankato Elementary School District. Ann attended Kindergarten through third grade in the building that her mother graduated from in 1943.

In the summer of 1959, the Owen family made a move to Colorado. She finished her education in the School Districts in Colorado and graduated from Merritt Hutton High School in Thornton, Colorado in May 1967.

Ann was baptized in the Southern Baptist Church, living a Christian Life, she was always ready to give a helping hand wherever needed. She was devoted to her husband and family, a kind loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and compassionate and appreciative of her friends and family.

With her work history, she worked at Rockmont Paper Company for twelve years. When the company relocated to another state, Ann was offered the job to move with them, but she loved her Colorado Mountains too much to make the move. She stayed in the Paper Industry and was employed with Custom Envelope Company for eight years. She welcomed retirement a few years later.

March 28, 1970, Ann was united in marriage to Dale Gordon Tretter in Denver, Colorado, which later ended in divorce. To this union, one son, Michael Dale was born in Denver, Colorado. On August 4, 1985, Ann was united in marriage to Ralph Edward Tinsley in Denver, Colorado. Ralph had a daughter, Amy Louise, and a son, Ray Edward, and now Ralph and Ann were a family of two sons and one daughter. They bought their first home in 1992 where Ralph still resides. They had forty years of marriage together.

As a family of five, they enjoyed camping in their "Little House" (small trailer) and to see who could catch the biggest fish in the mountain lakes. Little Jasper Dog had to accompany wherever the Little House went. You can't beat resting, relaxing and having fun in the serenity of the Colorado Mountains.

Some of Ann's happiest times were when she was using her talents, making new creations in her craft room, sharing her pieces of Art with her friends and family. She learned to do embroidery at an early age and enjoyed watching her TV shows and making new designs for quilt blocks. When she had the time, she would go Antiquing to find TREASURES to add to her craft room. Green Chili, Pea Salad, Cornish Game Hens, and Moms Chocolate Cake were a few favorites that were made in her kitchen.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Edward SR and Doris Glee (Thompson) Owen, her brother, Harold Edward Owen JR, Kershauna Kreutzer, and nephew, Kevin Lee Owen. Ann is survived by husband, Ralph Edward Tinsley, Children, Michael Dale (Heather) Tretter of Bellville, KS, Amy Louise Tinsley of Holiday, FL, Ray Edward Tinsley of Deland, FL; sister; Teresa Colleen (Don) Hamilton of Grand Junction, CO, brother; Steven Wayne (Kathy) Owen of Layton, UT, 10 grandchildren 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
