In Loving Memory of Anna Martinez
Anna Martinez was born on January 27, 1945, in Hebron, New Mexico, to Toribio and Eumelia Maestas. She was one of five siblings—four sisters, Martha, Virginia, and Estella, and one brother, Pete. Known as the mischievous sister, Anna often shared stories of getting into trouble, most of which, as she would say, were probably true.
During her childhood, Anna moved to Hoehne, Colorado. She later married Daniel Martinez, and together they made their home in Denver, Colorado, where she spent much of her life surrounded by family and friends.
Anna was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She also worked professionally as a housekeeper, a role she took great pride in. Her dedication and strong work ethic were evident in the long-lasting relationships she built—she maintained the same clients for over 30 years.
She loved going to the hills and felt most at peace surrounded by her family. Blue was her favorite color, though she had a fondness for bright, cheerful colors as well. Anna enjoyed bowling and spending time at the bowling alley with the ladies, doing puzzles, and reading romance novels. She also loved having an occasional glass of wine.
Some of her happiest moments were spent taking care of her grandchildren. O’Fallon Park cooking breakfast by the lake. Going to Sunday breakfasts with the crew. She loved fishing, camping, and going for a drive up the hill. Above all, hosting gatherings and parties, where laughter, food, and family filled the space.
Anna was proud of every name she was called—Anna, Ann, Annie, Mom, Momma, Granny, and Grandma—and she embraced each role with love and joy.
She is survived by her Sons & Daughter In Law: Terrence, Dave, & Joline. Grandchildren: Ashley, DJ, Zachary, Alicia, Brittany, & Cheyenne. 10 Great Grandchildren, Estella, her Sister, and Joe Brother-in-Law and two Sister-In-Laws Madilynn, and JoAnne.
On this journey she will be joining: Daniel, her husband, Mark her son, and Renee her granddaughter, along with numerous close family members.
