Arin MacDonald, 36, of Golden, passed away Dec. 14. He is survived by his parents, Dan (Lori) MacDonald of Lakewood, Pam MacDonald of Denver wife Angelia Garcia of Golden. He was preceded in death by his infant sister Sharon; grandparents Phil and Doris MacDonald, and Tom and Madhlun Bradley. Arin attended Green Mountain High School, Colorado Mountain College - Leadville and Red Rocks Community College. He will be fondly remembered by family, many friends in the hospitality industry and soccer in the Denver area and New York City, as well as by four devoted dogs.
Arin MacDonald had a great sense of humor, many talents, and he was an absolute blast to be around. He was an intelligent and multi-faceted man who had more potential than most of us ever hope to have. He always sought out scientific ways to understand the world. If he wondered whether we continue to exist after death, he might have appreciated the answer given by someone who said, "As a scientist, I have to believe it. Scientifically, energy can be neither created nor destroyed, it can only change form . . . and energy is all we are."
We will miss him dearly. The world will be a different place without him in it, and hopefully his absence will bring us closer and remind us to love each other and to take care of each other.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013, 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 W. 32nd Ave., Golden, CO 80401. Reception to follow at the church.
