Arthur Ronald Toney died on Monday, June 2, 2025, age 92. He was born in Los Angelas, CA on 8/27/32 and died in Denver. His parents moved to Denver when he was a toddler where he had a happy childhood growing up with many cousins. The extended families were pooling their money during the Great Depression.

Known to family as Ronnie, he left High School to join the Marines at 17 where he got his GED. Ronnie was wounded at the Chosin Reservoir. After healing, he was sent back to the front lines. He fought for 3 yrs until the Marines withdrew him. Afterwards he became a DI in San Diego. He re-enlisted, becoming an embassy guard in India, New Delhi. Ronnie was very popular and had a lot of fun with Americans, Indians and Brits. He loved to make others smile or laugh. He had a dry sense of humor and loved to tease.

Ronnie always had a crush on Lorraine Jean Ford since he was 15. On leave, he made a date with her. It was that date that Lorraine decided to marry him. She asked him not to re-up if they married. They married and had 4 children.

Ronnie got a job as a driver at Martin Marietta Aerospace Co. He became their top clearance and most advanced driver. He loaded and hauled everything from forklifts, hover crafts and fighter jet parts to tandem tractor trailers with full police escorts when hauling missile sections. In his 38 yr. career he never had an accident, earning many awards and honors.

After retiring, he and Lorraine built a cabin in the mountains. Ronnie loved living his dream. The two were very active in helping the community.

Ronnie is survived by his 4 children--Sherry Wood (Kevin), Pam Lininger (Rick), Jim Toney (Beth) and Jerry Toney (Beka); 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Jean Toney; parents Emeory and Bertha Toney, his older sister Barbra Unruh, and one grandson.
