Audie of Wesminster, CO joined his beloved wife Lillian in heaven on January 24th. Audie was the 2nd born of six sons to parents Roma and Alta Osborn of Macks Creek, MO. He was preceeded in death by brothers Audra, Keith, and Kenneth. He is survived by his loving children Danny, Diana, David and Darwin, daughter-in-law Kathy, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, brothers Ralph, Kansas City, MO and Jerry, Camdenton, MO as well as several wonderful sister-in-laws., nieces and nephews.
Audie was well known in the Denver area for his outstanding play in fast-pitch softball. He played in several World Tournaments for Spencer Sporting Goods and Dave Cook's and was inducted in to the Colorado Softball Hall of Fame. He also played baseball at the old field at 23rd and Welton where as children we watched him hit them out of the park. His love of baseball never ended. He loved our Colorado Rockies and never missed them on TV or listening to them on the radio. He was with his daughter at the very first Rockies game at Mile High Stadium in April, 1993. Audie had the opportunity to sign a minor league baseball contract when he was young but turned it down because he had a family to raise. Oh what a great major leaguer he would have made!
Our Dad oozed of integrity. He was a man of honor and you never doubted anything he said. When he spoke.....we listened. He was loved so much and our lives will forever be empty without him. We are glad that he will be joining our Mom in heaven. What a wonderful love story. Till the end he was so in love with her.
