Barbara was a wonderful and beloved wife and Mother who raised her children to enjoy life with respect of others, dignity, poise, and much laughter. She was a loyal and caring wife of almost 40 years who continued to faithfully love her husband, James, after he passed in 1997. She was a remarkably talented quilter who painstakingly hand stitched quilts for each of her children and their families. She poured much love and countless hours into each quilt which will be cherished and treasured forever. Barb had a green thumb like no other and had the most beautiful flower gardens year after year.
No stranger to hard work, Barb was told many times later in life to not get up on the roof, or paint the house exterior, or shovel the snow from her long driveway but to no avail. She enjoyed doing such things and would have it no other way. We will all miss her baking especially around the holidays as she made the best Christmas cookies ever!!!! It wasn't a visit with Barb without the offering of a delightful treat of some kind or another.
Barb was very intelligent and was a voracious reader who enjoyed a good book by the fireplace. She was admired and respected by all and had a humble, good natured demeanor. Throughout her life, Barb, displayed grace, poise, strength and determination which she maintained to the very end of her life. She was so fortunate to have been so very healthy up until the last couple months. Barb will be loved forever and truly missed by all those that knew her. Barbara's wishes were that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to:
