For several years, Barbara Jean (Effland) Adair battled dementia and Alzheimer's until she succumbed peacefully on November 18, 2015 in Denver at the age of 75.
She was born September 6, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to Elroy and Irma Effland.
Barb received her Bachelors degree in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for 35 years in various areas of care, such as ER, Labor & Delivery, Ears, Nose & Throat and Veterans Rehab just to name a few.
She was married in February 1961 to Clifton Arthur "Art" Rector in Niagara Falls. They relocated to Colorado where they lived and raised two daughters, Laura G. Rector and Jodie L. Rector, until they divorced in 1982.
Most of their lives they enjoyed camping and boating as a family at private water-ski clubs with many close friends.
Barbara was remarried to Floyd Adair for 12 years and lived in various parts of Colorado, enjoying the outdoor life on the ranch and fishing. After Barb and Floyd divorced, she relocated to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
She always had a spunky and ornery personality and enjoyed the warmer climate, sun, and water over the cold and snow. Due to her health decline, she was forced to move back to Colorado in April 2008 just in time to weather the tornado in Windsor, Colorado in May in what she thought to be her new home.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Rector and Jodie Rector; her grandchildren, Jessica and her husband Johnny Cashmore and Justin Fults; her great-grandchildren, Neveah Cashmore and baby Cashmore due in May 2016; her sisters, Judy Hoffman and Pat Effland and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elroy and Irma Effland, and her former husband, Art Rector.
