Barbara Lobato, a shining beacon of kindness and compassion, was born on November 11, 1948, in Sterling, Colorado. She departed this world peacefully on February 26, 2026, in Centennial, Colorado. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and Tia, Barbara's heart was as vast as the sky, illuminating the lives of those she encountered.
Barbara graduated from West High School in Denver, Colorado, after which she dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked in a residential facility as a caretaker for mentally challenged children, a vocation that resonated deeply within her. The bonds she formed with the children she cared for were special and profound, revealing her extraordinary capacity for love and understanding. Barbara’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life; she was a devoted caregiver to her family as well.
Her love for family was a cornerstone of her existence. She proudly provided a stable and loving home for her son, Domingo Ramos, fostering an environment where love blossomed. Her sisters Linda Paez and Rita Trujillo, along with the numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as Tia, often felt blessed to be enveloped in her nurturing presence.
Barbara is also survived by a step-daughter, Monica Kinder and her son, Dominik Christiansen; grandchildren, Angel and Andreas Lobato (Richelle), and her great-granddaughter, Amariana Lobato.
Barbara’s legacy includes the warmth and light she brought into the lives of her loved ones. Even through adversity, including the passing of her husband Eric Lobato, step-son Vincent Lobato, and her dear parents Frank and Florine Trujillo, along with siblings Jimmy Trujillo and Ruby Bargas, she remained steadfast in her love for others. Barbara’s ability to rise above challenges and continually offer love was an inspiration to everyone around her.
To know Barbara was to be touched by her amazing spirit; she radiated warmth and care, making anyone who crossed her path feel valued and cherished. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but the impact she made on their lives will forever live on as a testimony to her beautiful heart.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
