Barbara Nadine Hammons

Barbara was born on May 6, 1944 and passed away peacefully at her home in Lakewood, Colorado on August 11, 2016. She was 72 years old.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ed, children- Julie Frier (Andy), and Jim Hammons (Tracy), grandchildren Kayla, Abby, Catey, Sara, Christopher Altilio (Jessica), Estee Cukier (Bryant) and great grandchildren Myla, Delilah, Anthony, Alicia, Ali, Gabe, Ethan and baby girl Cukier. She is also survived by her sister - Joan Vecchi (Don), brother Tom Morrow (Gloria), sister in law, Rita and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara loved her kids and grandkids first and foremost. Ed thinks she kind of liked him too. She was famous for her spaghetti sauce and potato salad and people would come to her home just for her famous recipes. She loved to go on cruises, vacation in Las Vegas and when younger, camp and play cards with friends. One of her joys was being surrounded by as many friends and family as possible. She enjoyed lunches with close friends, going out to dinner and lunch and having bbq's at her home.

Barbara worked for over 20 years as an educational assistant at Bear Creek Elementary and loved her coworkers like they were family, keeping in touch with many of them up until the time of her death.

She was a young, vibrant spirit in a body that wasn't. Although all who knew her will miss her laugh and funny stories, we take comfort and solace that she is no longer hurting. She is with the Lord and in her perfect, beautiful body that matches her perfect, beautiful soul.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
