Barbara passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Lakewood, Colorado. She was born on October 26, 1940 in Geneva, Illinois to Iver R. Petersen and Mary A. Petersen, who preceded her in death. Also preceded in death by her brother, John Petersen.
She is survived by her companion, Leroy Turley; children: Robert L. (Ann) Turley, Kymberley L. Salazar, Melissa A. (Mike) Flynn, John K. Turley and Michael S. Turley; siblings: Garet Hegner, MaryLou Arnold and Esther Millett; grandchildren: Jason (Amy), Jacob and Jarod Flynn, Misty Hanifen, Troy Turley, Josh (Christina) and Jessy Roberson, Kristina and Dustin Salazar, Kevin (Nichole), Alexander, and Andrew Turley, Kyle Mammenga and Dylan Turley; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Alex, Landen, Bailee Roberson, Julee, Tyli and Daxus Roberson, Edward and Emily Hanifen, Aura Lynn Turley, Kristina Woodford, Aiden Flynn.
Barbara was a member of the Red Hat Society.
