Bernard Theodore Lopez Jr.

Bernard T Lopez Jr. “ Teddy “, 61 of Denver, CO passed away peacefully on June 21st, 2026, surrounded by family.

 Teddy was born on December 1st, 1964, in Corpus Christie, TX to Bernard T Lopez Sr and Ernestine Lopez. He graduated from Ranum High School in 1983 before joining the United States Navy. Teddy proudly served Eight years. While stationed in Virginia Beach, VA he met and married Joadi Lopez (Beckwith). Together they built a family! Teddy proudly embraced his role as father to his stepson Jayson Beckwith, together they welcomed their two daughters Shaileen and Alicia Lopez. 

Following his military service, Teddy dedicated 29 years to the Union Pacific Railroad where he was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment. Teddy had a deep love for his country, music, the arts, history, the beach, and every adventure life had to offer. He was a generous soul who lived with optimism and kindness. His warm smile, unforgettable loud laugh and heartfelt hugs that made everyone around him feel welcomed, valued, and loved.  He had a gift for bringing people together and leaving a lasting impression. 

Above all else, Teddy’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and an adoring grandpa to seven beloved grandchildren: Amaiya, Deauna, Kailee, Nathaniel, Selena, Korbyn, and Liliana. They brought endless happiness to his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He is preceded in death by his father Bernard Lopez Sr, his uncles Rick and Tony Lopez and his aunt Frances Vigil ( Pete Vigil ).

He is lovingly survived by his mother Ernestine, sister Dorrine, brother Daniel, his children Shaileen ( Robert Leydet ), Alicia, and Jayson, his seven grandchildren, wife Roxanne, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless friends. 

Though our hearts are heavy with his loss, Teddy’s legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and adventure will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
