Brigitte (Fichtel) Dye born on June 12, 1937 to Karl and Marie Fichtel in Neukirchen, Germany near Eisenach, Germany. This is the birthplace of composer Sebastian Bach and the castle where Martin Luther translated the Bible into a language that could be understood by common peoples. This is in the state of Thüringen known as the Green Heart of Germany, occupied by the Russians after World War II and called East Germany.
Brigitte fled East Germany in 1957 where she met Private First Class James L. Dye, United States Army in Kaiserslautern, Germany. After an enormous struggle for permission and documents they were married on December 23, 1960.
Brigitte traveled with her husband James L. Dye for over 25 Years to many countries and States in the United States.
She is survived by her husband Captain, Retired, United States Army James L. Dye; oldest son James L. Dye Jr., youngest son Siegfried Erich Dye and Michael Karl (Lisa) Dye; grandchildren Paxton Scott (13 Years old) and Olivia Marie Dye (11 years old). These two grandchildren were the diamond and gold pride of her 79 years of life.
Brigitte's only surviving German relatives are sister-in-law Monica Fichtel and son Horst Fichtel of Stuttgart, Germany; cousins Annalissa Schnider and Hanni of Grosseulupth, Germany and their families.
She was the youngest child of 6 and the only daughter in the family. She had 5 brothers Erich, Walter, Bruno, Heinz and Siegfried Fichtel.
She was a 115 Pound giant of a champion, fighter, wife, and mother that always took pride in her role as the one that held her family together no matter how difficult or desperate the situation was. She believed in God and the hereafter and fought to live as a example to all whom she came in contact with especially her family and friends. She will be missed and remembered by all for her Love and good deeds. God has gained a very special addition to his Kingdom.
