Bruce E. Elliott

Bruce Ellis Elliott, born on January 3, 1957, in Ft. Leavenworth, KS, left this world on July 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with kindness, laughter, and an unyielding love for the natural world.

For many years, Bruce dedicated himself to the community at Red Rocks Community College, where his warm spirit touched the lives of countless students and staff. To all who crossed his path, he was an icon; a man with a heart as big as the mountains he adored. Bruce found joy in the simple pleasures of life—camping under the stars, casting lines into tranquil waters, and sharing laughter with friends over a cup of tea. He had a distinct love for his leather jacket, a cherished piece that seemed to encapsulate his rugged charm and unwavering spirit, no matter the weather.

Bruce had a special bond with the children at the daycare across from his office. The children called him "Mr. Bruce" one little boy who adored his stylish footwear would dress up in boots from the play clothes and he would strut around saying he was Mr. Bruce…. It was a reflection of Bruce's heart, as he found immense joy in the laughter and innocence of children. His kindness radiated, and the children returned that affection tenfold.

His character was defined by a combination of warmth and humor, always making those around him feel welcome and safe. A natural protector, he would often walk female colleagues to their cars at night, ensuring they felt secure after a long day. Bruce's ability to uplift spirits was unmatched; he had a knack for finding laughter in the mundane moments of life.

He is survived by his beloved sisters, Charmian Dunn, Kaylene Helm, and Debra Luther, as well as his brothers, John Elliott and Scott King. Bruce also leaves behind a host of family and many lifelong friends, each carrying their own cherished memories of the man who brought so much light into their lives.

Though Bruce's parents, John and Violet, are no longer with us, their love undoubtedly shaped the man he became. In his passing, they are reunited in spirit, preparing to welcome him home. The love that Bruce spread leaves an indelible mark and a reminder that life is best lived with humor, warmth, and a deep appreciation for those around us.

As we gather to remember Bruce, we celebrate a life beautifully lived—a life that embraced nature, cherished friendships, and embodied kindness. He will be missed but never forgotten, residing forever in our hearts.
