Carol M. Dittmer, 82, of Aurora, passed away May 23, 2016.
She was born September 15, 1933 in Lacona, Iowa, the daughter of William and Theresa (Resneder) Klein. She was a graduate of Milo High School. On October 9, 1954 she married Wayne Dittmer, of Lacona, Iowa.
In 1959 Wayne and Carol moved to Colorado to raise their family. Carol worked at the City and County of Denver as a computer operator and programmer from 1963 to 1994. Following her husband's retirement, they liked to spend their winters in Arizona, enjoying the winter warmth and the many friends they made. They participated in geocaching, crafting, ATVing and all the other things snow birds do.
Carol enjoyed spending time with her children and their friends, her grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews and their children. She had a wide circle of friends that she also loved being around.
She was an expert needle-worker and made many beautiful items for friends and family, including christening gowns for her grandchildren. She was a voracious reader and always had a book nearby. She was an excellent cook and many a wonderful holiday dinner was made in her kitchen.
She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Carol is survived by her husband, Wayne Dittmer; five daughters, Cynthia (John) Kirrane, Deborah Blubaugh, Barbara (Christopher) McGrane, Brenda Hageman, and Julie (Randall) Locke; three grandchildren, Nicholas Kirrane, Holly Blubaugh, and Aidan McGrane; sister, Cloreta Woods; and brother, William (Anita) Klein.
