At the age of 80, Carole Black passed away Monday, October 29th after a short hospital stay.
Carole was the ultimate caretaker. Her caretaking began at age 14 upon the death of her mother in North Dakota. Left with a precoious younger brother and a grieving father, Carole filled the void of a wonderful mother, cook, and caregiver.
Later as a school teacher, a chorus of second graders looked to her in their formative years.
This loving and giving spirit became the backbone of her own growing family after her first marriage and the arrival of their son, Bruce. As a young wife and mother, her responsibilities multiplied as her first husband was diagnosed with a debilitating disease. After many years of being sustained by Carole's care, the disease ultimately consumed him and his life.
Opportunity came her way to serve again as she was remarried and became the best friend, sole mate and home maker to Ken Black, which allowed him the ability to dedicate himself to a life of hard work and build a secure future for them in Denver.
Some of the most inspirational work she provided was seen in the power of her prayer and apparent direct link with God. Her prayers were felt by friends and family time and time again, providing them with the rescue, peace, joy, hope, health and love they needed.
We see her most important caretaking call of all is becoming our guardian angel looking over those of us she knew and loved who were left behind. While we miss her greatly, we consider ourselves fortunate to have her watching over us.
