Carolyn A. Boston

December 15, 1943 — November 27, 2011

Live, Laugh, and Love....the words that come to mind on how she lived her life.

Carolyn's life story....who's life we honor and celebrate today:

On December 15, 1943, a beautiful, healthy baby girl was born to Ryburn and Ruby Sago. The only daughter with 2 older brothers, she was a cherished addition to the Sago family. Carolyn's life journey began on Xanthia St. in Denver Colorado where she and her brothers were raised. Her mom was always cooking or baking, and that is where she developed her love for cooking and baking.

Her brothers friends were always there to share the great food and sweets. Carolyn had a way of fitting in most of the time; she and the boys friends would ride in her dad's 1954 sweet pickup truck to all of her brothers athletic events. Her mom would drive because her dad was always working.

Carolyn attended Ashley elementary School, Smiley Jr. High and East High School.

Carolyn was a feminist before her time.... fighting to climb up her brother's tree house to join The All Boys Tree House Club. But they fought for their manhood, shooting down matches with their clothespin match guns...igniting Carolyn's hair. Needless to say, it ignited the wrath and fire of Mom and Dad Sago, but time has filed this incident under'amusing family folklore'. Carolyn opted out of high school early, but always one to finish a task she started, she received her GED at age 40.

At a young age, Carolyn made a decision to move from the family home to her own home where she could raise her firstborn son, Robert (Bob). Her first job was at Suss Pontiace on Colfax as the receptionist. With her charming way of remembering & greeting people by their first names, it was a quality to be desired, and we bet this receptionist sold a few of the cars!

Within a few years, her second son Shane was born, and by then she had the qualifications to purchase her first vehicle, a 1966 white Impala. Her final wish was to get a white Lexus, and again, always finishing a goal or task she started, she got her car....and she will be driving it in her angel dreams ***(oh by the way, she never got to drive it on planet earth).

Carolyn considered her brother Ryburn as a leader, a mentor and a best friend; her decisions were often influenced by Ry's guidance and counsel.

When it came to her brother Gene, she looked up to him with stars in her eyes. The impression he left on her life was a memorable one as his singing, dancing and artistic talent created much joy and pride in her heart.

After deciding to make a career change, she pursued a 21 year career in banking....starting at Aurora National Bank, then to Western Federal Bank. After a tragic scare at another local bank, Carolyn decided to make another move and this would eventually lead her to Bonfils Blood Center. She worked at Bonfils for 6 years until she retired in 2010...often reminiscing about the 'forever' friends she made while working there.

Yet 'Mom' is the title that Carolyn most cherished....her family meant everything to her. Raising her two sons was her favorite challenge and task in life; rarely easy, but always her sense of purpose and pride. Yes, Bob and Shane were the loves of her life, and she shared their love with Grandpa Sago & Grandma Sago. Raising two active sons love tested this strong loving woman, but she just became stronger and more loving. This strength is carried within Bob and Shane today....strength that they share with their cousins Tammy, Tiffany & Carley, and their great cousin, Reese.

Carolyn was feisty...with a vital life force that attracted many people into her life...and she wove them into her life story so that they also will be remembered. She had many cherished friends and it would take pages to name you all, but among those, Carol Ann, Shirlee, Dean, Sandie, Bonnie, Alfie and Paul, her boss in the call center at Bonfils Blood Center. She appreciated being invited to family events hosted by her niece, Tammy & husband Jeff. She so loved and appreciated her neighbors who were always ready to help and support her. Carolyn was 'Mom' to many, and she often said that Lisa, Tina and many other young women were the daughters that she always wanted.

Carolyn loved tending to her family, her friends, her home, and her gardens. And let us not forget her loyal dog, Heidi, who kept Carolyn trim & fit playing 'fetch ball'...always by Carolyn's side until she was called to the heavens. And now Heidi is steadfast by the side of Bobby, Shane and Lisa.
