Carolyn N. Osvirk

Carolyn Novelle Osvirk, 93 joined her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2025.

Born on May 23, 1932, in Floydada, Texas to Cecil and Callie (McMurray) Jones.

After her mother’s passing, at 6 weeks of age she and her twin sister went to live with her grandparents until the age of 4 at which time her dad remarried and they moved to Dove Creek, Colorado.

At the age of 18 she married William Osvirk and lived in Colorado. They had 4 children, Susan (John) Davis, Judy (Earl) Sherman, Sheri (Earl)Byrd, and Mark (Christine)Osvirk.

She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, Nikki Rizzo, Jason (Tiffany) Davis, Shawna (John) Mendez, Joshua (Jennifer) Freiberg, Adam (Lesli) Freiberg, Chelsea (Elyse) Freiberg, Rachel (Bill) Caulk, Brent (Claire) Byrd, Kayla (Mike) Dunn, James Lopez, Celina Lopez, Alexa Osvirk, and Conner Osvirk.

She was also blessed with 19 great grandchildren. Alec, Breton, Eliana, Julia, Tyler, Taelyn, Tristyn, Deirdre, Ainsley, Mairenn, Raleigh, Zoe, William, Wyatt, Weston, Parker, Avery, Taylor and Jessie.

She is survived by her sister Cecily Bishop and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband William, twin sister Nancy, brothers Neil and Garnett, sister Sue, son in law Tye, grandson in law Ron.

Her love for the Lord showed through her servant’s heart by teaching Sunday School and serving in Women’s Ministries, Set Free Prison Ministry, singing praises in the choir and her everyday testimony of her life.

Some of her many pleasures were playing games with family and friends, reading books and cheering on the local sports teams. Although her greatest joy was spending time with her large family.

Her viewing will be at Newcomer Mortuary on July 28th from 4 to 6 pm and Memorial Service on July 29th at 10 am at Red Rocks Baptist Church at 14711 West Morrison Road, Morrison, Colorado. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery on July 29th at 2 pm.
